The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported a devastating toll on Sunday, revealing that over 700 Palestinians lost their lives in the past 24 hours due to Israel's unrelenting aggression on the besieged Strip.
The ongoing Israeli bombardments have caused widespread destruction, leveling homes, buildings, residential apartments, and various public and private properties. As military operations resumed in Gaza for the third consecutive day, Israeli forces made ground incursions into the western neighborhoods and the southern city of Khan Yunis, creating a separation between Gaza's cities and placing them under siege.
Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said in a press release, “In the past 48 hours after the collapse of the temporary humanitarian truce in Gaza and the resumption of air, sea, and ground attacks on the population in a wide series of disproportionate raids, Israel returned with a stronger intensity of fire, accompanied by the announcement of forced displacement plans from new areas in the southern Gaza Strip”.
Israel is crushing all forms of civilian life in Gaza
“Israel is crushing all forms of civilian life in Gaza and returning the population to its pre-industrial stage, while reducing the Strip, including its homes, factories, businesses and infrastructure, to piles of rubble”, Euro-Med told.
In the latest wave of violence, Israeli forces executed seven massacres against civilians. The Shujaiya neighborhood witnessed a massacre claiming the lives of more than 150 people, while the Jabalia neighborhood in Al-Faluja also experienced a brutal attack, with dozens still reported trapped under the rubble.
Another massacre unfolded in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in the west of Gaza, where medical supplies faced insurmountable challenges in reaching the affected areas. Additionally, numerous massacres occurred in the southern Gaza Strip.
Reports indicate that many civilians are trapped under debris, highlighting the dire humanitarian crisis. A resident in Sheikh Radwan shared a harrowing account, stating, “At one and a half o'clock, we heard the sounds of successive explosions from Israeli aircraft. An entire square was wiped out. There were no landmarks on the street, and there was no first aid to rescue the injured, and there were dozens of families still under the rubble”.
The Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza faced intense bombardment, resulting in over 100 Palestinian casualties, with many feared dead beneath the ruins of demolished homes.

During a press conference, the Gaza government media office disclosed the grim reality: “More than 700 were killed in Gaza during the past 24 hours. More than one and a half million displaced people in the Gaza Strip.”
With no safe place in Gaza, the relentless Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling targeted the city of Khan Yunis, causing civilian casualties. Israeli bombardment also reached the town of Al-Qarara and the eastern and coastal areas, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
The Palestinian Civil Defense Service reported its efforts in rescuing hundreds trapped under the rubble in the Shejaiya neighborhood in the east of Gaza City, a prime target of Israeli military aggression. The Civil Defense stated that more than 300 Palestinian citizens, including the bodies of those killed and injured, have been recovered from the collapsed structures in the Shejaiya neighborhood.
“The international community is urged to address this escalating crisis, safeguard civilian lives, and push for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza. The ongoing tragedy underscores the urgent need for international intervention to prevent further loss of innocent lives and alleviate the immense suffering of the Palestinian people,” The Palestinian Civil Defense said.
21.022 people have been killed by Israel since the beginning of its attack on Gaza, including 8.312 children and 4.270 women, according to Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor.
